Abstract
Education plays an important role in preparing Human Resources (HR), namely by producing quality students. There are still many teachers who have low ability in understanding the subjects being taught. This study aims to analyze the professional development of Vocational High School (SMK) teachers. The population and sample in this study were all 163 SMK teachers under the auspices of LP Ma'arif Surabaya, the data entered and analyzed quantitatively using SEM. The results of this study showed that the indicator of creating written works was higher than the indicator of conducting research, finding technology, making guidance and the lowest indicators of curriculum development in the professional development of vocational teachers. The professional development of SMK teachers requires the involvement of all those who have the responsibility to do so, it is the responsibility of the central government and local governments. Success in the development of teacher professionalism is also determined by several other factors including the leadership role of the principal
